Research
I interviewed the client, analyzed competitors, defined the target audience, created a moodboard and sketched some ideas

Some of the moodboard pictures that ispired me for the design of the logo
The name Lekobox it's a combination of the words LEK (which means "to play" in swedish) and BOX.
The logo represents a green box full of wooden block puzzle toys and leaves.
Starting from the Lekobox philosophy "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" and the promotion of toys that not only are eco sustainable, but also good for child development, I choose to incorporate the wooden block puzzle because studies have shown that these are THE perfect toys for children for a development standpoint and for our planet too.

Brand identity
I developed the client's choice from the options I proposed into different versions and created a brand identity, a guidelines book, and other visual products.

Brand identity guidelines

A5 flyer distributed in a "kids trade fair" to acquire new clients
I've also designed some templates to use them for social media purposes

UX/UI design
Based on my user personas I've created two user flows diagrams to map every step of the user interaction required to achieve the main goals.

Following my user flows I started paper sketching wireframes and created some low fidelity wireframes on Balsamiq.
I had to take into consideration that, given the fact that this website would be hosted on the Shopify platform, I needed to account for some of the Shopify built-in features.

I then proceded to create a design system with components to be able to design high fidelity wireframes

The feature 'add toys to your custom box' was conceived by me

Prototype

User testing
After making a clickable prototype on Figma and to validate my proposed solutions, I asked three users to perform the following set of tasks using the mobile prototypes:
- Select a box where you can choose your toys.
- Have a look at the toys that are available to rent and search for a drum toy.
- Add the toy to a custom box.
- Add the box in the cart and validate
All users managed to successfully complete the four tasks. Two users had some difficulty finding the hamburger menu on the mobile version, as this button was floating so I took their comments into consideration and changed it with a sticky navigation bar.
Challenges
Halfway through the project, stakeholders realized that their target audience was slightly different from what they had anticipated. This had a significant impact, particularly on the visual aspects and visual identity, while not notably affecting the UX since the pain points and goals closely aligned with the personas created earlier.
The creation of the feature to add a box and the monthly subscription process has been redesigned several times due to some requirements from the developer. After various attempts, a solution was found that worked well both from a UX perspective and in terms of back-end development.
